“Days of our Lives” to move the hourglass to Peacock

Reading between the lines, it sounds like even the affiliates were taken aback by this move as they had by all accounts planned and committed to airing DAYS for the 2022-23 season. DAYS might not have been doing blockbuster numbers on broadcast, but now they're stuck trying to fill a hole in their schedule with... Dateline reruns?
there’s no space for the affiliates to fill. The network is swapping in a new show.

Wood TV aired Regis & Kathie for the first couple of years before WZZM aired it for decades before moving to now WWMT back in 2008. WWMT made a big deal when then morning/noon news anchor Jeff Verner was co-host with Kelly for one day he was 5, 6, 10 on sister station CW7, 11PM when Tom Van Howe retired who was forced out at Wood TV in 2005 I know no one cares and is off topic for that. Jeff left in 2011 when he said he wasn't going to renew his contract with a year left on it and didn't like who they were replacing Judy Markee and kinda trashed his new co-anchor after that he got fired.

I wonder if Sony will try and pitch Days if it doesn't get renewed by Peacock if they would try and sell it to syndication?

These days wouldn’t Sony be more likely to pitch DOOL to another streaming service than syndication. Especially with a back library of 50+ years of episodes.

NBC News Daily will be the replacement but we seen Another World and Passions were replaced by 2 extra hours of Today. I would be surprised if NBC News Daily might change direction successful or not and move to 11am as 5th Hour Today before lunch.
Does anyone remember the Ainsley Harriot Show? He was a British chef whose show aired on NBC very briefly after Another World left the air.

That would be nice, but Dark Shadows is the only soap I know that aired in syndication, as I seen promos for Dark Shadows in 1982 on YouTube from WNBC 4 in New York that it aired right after the nbc soaps which was Another World at that time. Other wise I only seen reruns of soaps on cable, Search for Tomorrow and Edge of Night on USA Network, Dark Shadows on Sci-Fi channel, Ryan's Hope and Another World on Soapnet.

Just wanted to add to your cable list that The Doctors (1963-82 soap) has been in reruns for years now on Retro TV.

I didn't know that Dark Shadows aired after Another World.

The discussion in this thread of syndication of soaps is syndicating reruns of already aired episodes. The original poster posed the question of Sony trying to syndicate DOOL if it doesn’t succeed on Peacock (I believe) was referring to the possibility of DOOL continuing with new episodes in syndication if Peacock cancels the show. Totally different from rerunning old episodes.

Passion only lasted several months after it moved to DIrectv

When Passions moved to Direct tv they only aired 4 days a week from September to December. Then they announced they were canceling the show. From January to August they only aired 3 days a week just to keep the show on through most the summer.

With all the news about the death of Queen Elizabeth, it's entirely possible that today's episode might end up being the last one to ever air on NBC
