“Days of our Lives” to move the hourglass to Peacock

And what could NBC do if things don’t improve in 6 months.
ABC only aired The Revolution talk/lifestyle show (replacing One Life To Live) for 6 months because of low ratings. It was cancelled and an hour in the daytime lineup was returned to local affiliates. I could see in this case network giving hour back to affiliates but continuing to produce NBC News Daily for Peacock and/or NBC News Now and giving the affiliates the option of continuing to air it. As much as soap fans would like it I don’t think there is any chance they will return DOOL to network.

At what point do the affiliates demand a change. And what could NBC do if things don’t improve in 6 months.

I think that NBC could make NBC News Daily optional for non-NBC-owned affiliates.

Stations run them. (I’m not counting the bizarre Fox weekend thing here), not the networks. And great, they get paid. That can fund some other expenses. Life is not made worse in any way.

Some talk shows don't air at all in a market. The Wendy Williams show aired at 1:05am for a few years on who 13 when they had Rachel Ray at 11am and another talk show at 2pm. Eventually the 2pm talk show was canceled and Wendy Williams moved to 2pm where it aired for a year or two.

They got rid of Wendy Williams and it's never aired here since and neither does the new show Sherri. When they got rid of Wendy Williams they moved Rachel Ray to 2pm and launched Hello Iowa a new 1 hour News show that kinda resembled Van & Connie later known as the afternoon show in the 90's.

When Days of our Lives moved to Peacock they moved Rachel Ray to 1pm and NBC News Daily at 2pm. If NBC News Daily gets canceled my guess would be WHO 13 would air an extra hour of News. They premiered a 4pm Newscast in 2014 and moved Ellen to KCCI 8. They would probably move Jeopordy to 2pm to launch News at 3pm since alot more NBC affiliates launched a 3pm newscast this year.

Maybe they can replace NND and Dateline reruns with crazy talkers from NBCU Syndication Studios like Karamo and Steve Wilkos. They can move the Bravo show WWHD with Andy Cohen to daytime.

No. Never mind they don’t want that bottom-feeding garbage on their owned stations, that’s not going to be an easy sale to the other affiliates. Those shows do better living in big long blocks on the CW and My stations.

Well some Big Three stations like in Memphis or York PA do carry Karamo
