“Stardust Memories” Gone From WRCR

After a 3-month run of playing nothing but MOR/standards on middays, “Stardust Memories” has finally ended its run on WRCR. His final show was back on around January 31st with Dan Karcher as the host. I’m going to miss this show so much. It was great to hear Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Tony Bennett, Glenn Miller, Tommy Dorsey, Count Basie, Ella Fitzgerald, and many more.

But the good news is that Race Taylor is back on WCBS-FM after three months of hosting a weekly Tuesday hour long show, and Friday half hour show for three months, and now doing a full 10AM to 2PM shift replacing “Stardust Memories”.

The station left me a comment on Facebook and it goes like this:

Dan has decided to move on to other things and is unable to do "Stardust Memories" simultaneously. We loved the show as well and are hoping to find a suitable replacement soon.

In addition to its demise, where did all of its listeners from “Stardust Memories” go? I have a better alternative for you. Metromedia Radio is the place to listen to, and it would have a much better audience from the loss of “Stardust Memories” with Dan Karcher.

Or you can listen to WABC on Sunday nights to hear Joe Piscopo with “Sundays With Sinatra”, and Deana Martin with her “Night Cap” show. Those are the two shows to be on Sunday following the demise of “Stardust Memories” with Dan Karcher.

Those are the two choices to listen to, Metromedia Radio for MOR/Standards, plus Joe Piscopo and Deana Martin on WABC on Sunday nights.

I’ll give you a link to Metromedia Radio. Here it is. It will feature an online stream where you can listen to. So check it out.
