whats really cool, is to see where listeners are tuning in from.

not many at one time, but I get some every now and then and they listen for hours.
and they are return listeners, guess thats a good sign.

So How does everyone like the new "Higher Bandwith" sound, its almost like FM.

give me some feedback.

Oh, we also tend to be leaning a bit more rockish as of late, still doing dance though.
I finally got my entire collection uploaded, so it leans more towards rock now.
But I will keep it updated and fresh with all my favorite dance tracks too.

Your sound quality is very good now. I havent had time to tune in, because I have been busy working at the truckstop, and studying, as well as taking care of groove 1660 of course. BTW, we are up to 375 songs now, and we have added a small amount of Urban, mostly Gold urban though. We even play a few songs from I.C.P...(INSANE CLOWN POSSIE), probably the only station anywhere that plays them, but they are Huge with the kids here, and they are actually quite funny. Im thinking of adding just a touch of Rock as well, mainly older alternative (INDUSTRIAL) type stuff, like Rob Zombie, Marilyn Manson, and Nine inch nails. Is this a good idea, or does it spell trainwreck???? This would never work on Commercial radio, but Ive had a great response, and a few listener suggestions.
 
1) This is your last freebie plug. If you want to constantly advertise using this site you can pay us for the resources you consume.

2) Your crossfades are broken.

3) 96k is NOT impressive, NOT high quality, and nowhere near FM.

4) Why is this on a dance board? I've heard 4 unknown ballads/rock and no dance.

5) Speaking of unknown ballads, I don't see the titles being streamed.

6) I wish this "jack-fm" craze would be taken out back and put down. I absolutely HATE the diversity...that's why we have separate stations. When I want rap crap and top 40, I'll go to a top 40. When I want dance, I'll hit up a dance. When I want country, I'll hit up country. 1,600 songs presents me with about 1,300 unknown songs that I couldn't care less about.

But Most "Mundanes" don't have any appreciation for different forms of Music.

Im sure your doing very well on your station.
Have you noticed any signs of listenership, neighbors, passing cars ETC.

I Seem to notice a Bunch of "Freebie Plugs" on here.

I have the same right to be here, that everyone else has.

And my "Format" is not just limited to "Dance"

Its getting around trust. G50 Poster boards cant go wrong. Neither can my add in the newspaper.

Talking about your playlist isnt plugging your station. I think Sam hasnt been taking his meds or something, because he has been on my azz, and several other peoples for about a week or two now, and deleting post after post after post.
 
Putting an ad in the newspaper definetly would work.
I thought of doing that here in the local alternative press.

Ive already got ads on "Community web sites"
also linked off a few as well.

Word of mouth, will bring in the listeners eventually.
I noticed I had a few this morning and thats unusual for sunday morning.
whats funny is when your playing a set of dance tracks and then put on something old and rocking like "Zeppelin" and your listeners Flee :eek:)
radio in the USA has got the population so Brainwashed into "Formatting"
I look at music like an "All you can Eat BUFFET"
man can't live on just Potatoes alone.
plus it takes the boredom out of listening.
you don't want to log off, because it gets your curiosity up, for what will be next.

but anyway.
all Im trying to do is chat about some of my favorite topics and maybe drop a line about my station every now and then.

why this guy gets all bent out of shape is a suprise to me.

Im guessing issues from childhood or maybe jealousies.
maybe he hates to see others enjoying anything.

but thats his loss, my life doesn't end with his every word.
my station goes on and on, even if it does not meet his quality standards.

basically, LIFE GOES ON!

It's best to just ignore people, who give you attitude.
we are all on here for a common goal.
And Ive always been fascinated by radio.
I would love to be back on "Terrestial" radio, I know your having a blast with that.
But Im not in an area of High elevation and if I did put up a station over the air, the demographics of my neighborhood would not support it.

I Only Posted on the Appropriate format Boards.
Since I play everything from Dance to rock to whatever.
You Don't have a "Jack" Board.

I can see if someone posted again and again about there station, that would be spamming.
I only speak of my station, if something new changes in it or I will Post the Url at the bottom of my messages, pretty much like everyone else does here.

and you were not criticizing, you were just being "Insulting"
there is a difference.

my levels do go lower on some songs, but they never peak over a certain level.
I got my music from many sources, tapes, records, friends, internet, stores ETC.
and some of the older stuff is lower, but its not drastic low.

I did watch that nothing went to loud.
Ive heard small town independent over the air stations, that sounded worse.

I would go rerecord some of the lower volume songs, but do you know how long that would take.
People have a volume knob, they can make the proper adjustments.

So you say there may be 1,300 songs you care nothing about?
How can you say that, if you never heard them.
Not all of us were "Brainwashed" by "Clear Channel"
into listening to what they deem popular.
Some of us decide, what we think is popular for our own ears.
there are TONS of good bands out there, that nobody ever hears.

That does not give anyone an excuse for being rude.
10 Listeners? Is that all we can muster on this thing?
DAM, I want a 50,000 watt FM stick, so I can "Freak" the world :eek:)
Could you imagine me on a big commercial station, that just wouldn't be right would it?
to bad I don't have $$$$$ or I would be there.
