Thanks for the heads up, MusicMan11; will keep checking Q105/104.7 this weekend.

Have just turned on Q-105 (usually listen to XM), right now they're running American Top 40 from some year in the late 1970's.

The concept is good; I always liked weekend specials; certainly better than what many talk stations do and just rerun the weekday programming.

For those interested both WABC-770 out of New York and WLS-890 (Chicago)are having Memorial Day specials tomorrow on Memorial Day; I know both stations are not receivable in the Tampa Bay area (thanks Radio Cuba!); but both will be on their stream. WLS is bringing back some of the DJ's from the 60's and 70's and playing the music that they played back then, as opposed to the current talk format. From what I understand WABC is doing something a different from WLS and playing air checks from the 60's and 70's.

Back in the day, we burned those songs beyond recognition, however, now that they've had years of resting it is good to hear them.

"The Streak"... "The Night Chicago Died"... "The Night The Lights Went Out In Georgia"... All songs you could have heard had you tuned in to the Cockroach's "Memorial Day T(ea) Party" this weekend! ;D

WABC's effort I think is the one called "Rewind" done by WABC's supurb production guy Johnny Donovan. He takes scoped airchecks from over the years and "unscopes" them to recreate the programming. Takes you right back when. XM does similar when they recreate a station on the 60's channel. I didnt get to hear it this year
