1 less sports station in Orlando

810 WRSO is now a according to cflradio.net Portuguese Gospel station along with their 2 FM translators. I heard them playing music today and I have no idea what language it is. The old CBS sports 810 website and face book pages are gone. Always knew this town was not big enough for 4 sports stations. I'm surprised it lasted this long. This is what happens when you don't buy the book and don't promote. Let's see how long this format lasts. This is like the 6th format this stations had in 10 years.

Hard to believe there's an FM (translator) in Orlando airing Portuguese Gospel, of all formats. Wow. If you've got the money, I've got the tiiiiime.

Whoops, make that Brazilian format. Saw Bob's update at cflradio.net on it.

I'm guessing everything is brokered, but in Portuguese, serving the Brazilian community. That's why someone might be doing a religious show at one time, and general Brazilian music and talk programming at others. Let's remember Brazil is the largest country in Latin America, where Portuguese is the language. That's why it's called "Latin" America, not Spanish America or Hispanic America. Portuguese is also a Latin language.

Interesting that there are several Portuguese-language stations around the country. A few in the Providence-Southern Massachusetts area, one north of Boston and one in the Fresno California area, that I know of. New Bedford, Mass. has a full-power 50,000 watt FM station. And now there's an AM station in Orlando. I guess the older stations were originally aimed at European Portuguese immigrants. But over time, most of the new immigrants are from Brazil.
