1 Million Watts On Shortwave!

I found out earlier this week that the Noratus, Armenia AM and SW Transmitter site has the capability for 1 megawatt on SW. Can you freakin' imagine the coverage on that? And they do lease time to outside broadcasters. I'm trying to find out what the cost is!

There are two different operators at that site. Radio CJSC runs the shortwave transmitters, and is a purely brokered time business model.

AIUI airtime bookings for the facility have dried up, and it’s future is in doubt.

I suspect the per-hour cost for a 1000kw transmitter is not cheap.

ACtually, from what ive been quoted for the 100kw and 300kw powers from Armenia and what I know the costs for 100 and 300kw from issoudun and wooferton, the 1000kw from Armenia is probably around the 300kw from Issoudun and Wooferton
