10-90 WILD MIA--?

KULF, a Houston rimshot, also on 1090 has reportedly been missing and off air for a few weeks. It's owned by the same people who own WILD through a different licensee name but runs China Radio International as well.. and it to has been cited for running well past sunset. (I dont know if WILD has been cited by the fcc for doing it, but i know I heard them well well after dark when I lived near Erie PA and several other DX'ers in the eastern seaboard have heard them after dark)

No backup? How about using the low power PSSA transmitter, or is that the same transmitter just at low power?

Wild should stay off the air permanently!

I don't know about you, but WILD-AM 1090 should stay off the air permanently! They were wrong to become a Chinese Communist Party propaganda outlet in this market. This is what's wrong with radio today; anti-democratic factions are trying to undermine the freedoms of our country.

They have every right... I support their right to program and air what they want as long as they operate legally and pay their bills (this station appears to have operated past sunset several times). I don't have to agree with what they program or even like it.. but i dont want the government having a say in programming, let the market decide.

Grow up. Dont like it? don't tune in!

We survived The Daily Worker from 1921 to 1958, among many "radical change" publications. We should be able to withstand a daytime AM station in Boston with great success.

And within respectful reason, I even welcome differing opinions

Hey blackgold.. im sure theyd lease the signal to you... pony up the bucks and put something better on why dont you?

I know you know what you like on air for programming.

But do you not realize that this is a business, and a facility has to pay...probably first and foremost, the elctric bill to keep a station on the air?

And for it to have ANY value at all, (and we can debate all day what value it has), but it has to stay on air first and foremost with it's license intact, and for that they need to pay the electricity bill...

You seem not to have any idea how programming and and the business end run hand in hand.

So...if someone gave you 1090AM....what would you do on-air, and what would you do that would pay the bills?

"According to an asset purchase agreement made public by the FCC on Sept. 9, Radio Boston is paying exactly $888,326.16, “plus or minus pro-rations.” Specifically, Radio One will apply the $15,000 per month it has received since the current TBA began in December 2013 toward the purchase price.

Radio Boston will then assume Radio One’s obligation to Vertical Bridge, which is $348,626.16. A monthly payment will begin immediately, with such payments concluding in May 2020."

Ah, the old triple 8! Eight is a special number to the Chinese, symbolizing good fortune. I've seen it pop up in the must unlikely places. Here in my area of Connecticut, we had a kidnapping incident involving the child of the owners of a Chinese buffet restaurant. The bad guys demanded a ransom of, IIRC, $88,888 for the boy's safe return. The whole thing turned out to be a family squabble and the kid was returned with no ransom paid, but all those 8s were no coincidence.
