1. Come Together-Aerosmith
2. Fat Bottomed Girls-Queen
3. Can't Alway's Get What You Want-Rolling Stones
4. Radar Love-Golden Earring
5. Another Brick in The Wall-Pink Floyd
6. Beast of Burden-Rolling Stones
7. Closer to the Heart-Rush
8. Black Dog-Led Zepplin
9. Bohemian Rhapsody-Queen
10. Mama I'm Coming Home-Ozzy Osbourne

These songs are so overkilled on KIOL. What really pisses me off is when some dumba-- calls in during the all request lunch hour and wants one of these played and believe me it happens a lot!!!

I agree with almost all of those. but, KLOL stopped playing the Stones years ago.
and today at 11:30, I heard them play Zebra "Who's Behind the Door". When was the last time that was played on Houston airwaves?<P ID="signature">______________

I agree and the interesting aspect of this is that if they would just play the next song on the track (the non-worn out ones) it would sound half-way fresh.

Does anyone know what those would be? Just interested.

The last time Zebra was played ...the day before on KIOL...LOL! You will be tired of it in a week!

The problem is not necessarily the songs they play, but the 200 in rotation. I could listen to most of that music if they didn't play it everyday. There is too much rock music out there to play the same songs day after day. That is why KKRW is at least refreshing to listen too....the library is a lot deeper, which it should be.

But KIOL's problems are much deeper than the music......it's the whole format issue in general. The answer is right in front of their face. They need to lean more in an active rock type format. It doesn't even have to be full blown, but mixing that style of rock in with a few classics would be so refreshing. Be the total rock station and not KLOL! It could be the JACK format of rock music. You could call it SATAN.(LOL) Satan play what he wants....from Iron Maiden to Pantera to Lynyrd Skynyrd to Guns and Roses to whatever! But have that deep library to choose from and play some album cuts.

It's stations like KIOL that make me hate bands that I normally wouldn't hate. I pretty much hate Aerosmith now and I blame KLOL and KIOL....hell their both the same, except one had good audio quality and a city grade signal!

I don't know why I waste my breath on this sh*t!

I agree with everything you said 100 percent. I'd love to hear some Maiden or even some Skid Row or Yngwie Malmsteen. There's so much other stuff they should be mixing in.

While I agree that KIOL could have a wider playlist, its good to hear music I haven't heard in years on the radio.

That said, KIOL's biggest problem is not the music it is currently playing - it is the piss poor sound quality that makes it sound like an AM station on FM. Doesn't anyone at Cumulus have a clue what is wrong here and how to fix it? Are they using the alternate link to the transmitter to broadcast?

I got to thinking about this on my drive home from work yesterday. During the brief days of "TV103", I heard sound quality like we hear now, and I attributed it to testing, the source material being broadcast, etc. Now I am beginning to wonder if it is poor quality equipment, or how it is set up.
