Anybody know why a 100,00 watt AC station in Lexington, would be wasting there time harassing a 2,500 watt
AC station in Frankfort....Weird huh?

94.5 qualifies on both counts.jb_ky said:There is a 100,000 watt AC station in Lexington?

That was news to me...Indeed they did drop to 85KW in 2006. The filing shows that the almost insignificant drop from 100KW to 85KW (FCC allows a 100KW station to operate between 90KW and 105KW to allow for variations in the day to day conditions affecting the transmission system) would allow WDKF in the Dayton Market to operate with a "less restrictive directional antenna". Lucky for WDKF that their sister station just happened to be in a position to help out.jb_ky said:They down graded the signal back in 2006 correct?
It was interfering with 94.5 in Dayton I think that is the reason why.

Frankfort is using trademarked items that CC/Lexington has used for years. He said the GM in Lexington called requesting that they stop using the trademarked items, (this is standard operating procedure for CC legal ~ had this done to me a few times) CC gave Frankfort a week to stop using the trademarked items and find something new.. Frankfort continued to use the mark and now CC legal is involved. My buddy told me that the Frankfort GM just won't back down which IMHO is just asking to get your butt handed to you. I have learned over the years that CC legal doesn't put up a fight unless they are 200% sure they will win. Just a thought.. know we all "share" ideas, names, events, etc in this business but I find it sad when a radio station can't make an effort to at least put their own name and twist on something. Even worse when they get online and say that CC is harassing them for using a tradearked item.
Btw... what the heck have they done with 103.7? The Commodores into Justin Timberlake... dont think anyone has any concerns about this station!
my two.
