100.1 off the air this morning.

100.1 FM WXKT Watkinsville-Athens, has only been on the air for 5 days airing 1340 WGAU. It is now off the air. I guess alternate programming is coming? I wonder if it will be Bulldog 103.7 simulcast. hmmmmm

Would that be a waste of the frequency? I mean, 103.7 covers Athens, both under existing Royston license and even better the proposed Arcade facility.

100.1 would better cover Oconee County and have a stronger signal in Athens, however.

Thats the web site of K-100 WXKT when it was in Washington, Ga. I see nothing new about this website.
It is kinda strange that the website is still up and running, but then again, the FCC website hasn't changed either. It still shows a CP in Watkinsville.

When I was going to UGA circa 1996-1998, WPUP's signal wasn't very good downtown or around campus. It wasn't any better than 99x or Album 88. The only thing WPUP had going for it was the local programing.

I think he was suggesting that the new 100.1 might be a typical college town commercial Alternative station like WPUP was in the early 90's or like WTGZ Auburn, WHHZ Gainesville (FL), WXSR Tallahassee, or WNXX/KNXX Baton Rouge are now. With WUOG and WPPP already available, would a commercial Alternative work in Athens, or would a Greatfull Dead leaning AAA work better?

100.1 is back on the air....

Yes it is! 100.1 is back!
The Bulldog is LOUD and clear in Athens and Watkinsville! Is this a permanent thing or just until the Bulldog 103.7 Tower is moved?
