100.3 - The New Buzz

They were stunting all weekend, with "The New V" & "G3" starting Monday, with no jocks the whole time.

Today, Monday, no John Boy & Billy, they're gone from the website, & the only staff listed are PD Tim Satterfield & Matt Pencola.

Other jocks have been taken off the site.

They are running jockless now.

Seems like their music is more Active Rock.

They also have new breakers/sweepers, & their ID is WVBZ/Greensboro instead of WVBZ/High Point.

Concentrating & focusing on Greensboro and being the Triads' Rock Station.

Middayer Marsha Gan, Crash, & Zeke & the Nocturnal Transmission are gone from the website.

Seems like it might be a reaction to the increased Active Rock music variety on Rock92.

I like it, and i hope it sticks around. Its about time this area got a new rock station. Ive only heard one classic in the time i was listening. They play alot of Rage, STP, and they also play the new bands like Cavo and Framing Hanley. I think its pretty cool considering last week i was wondering when we were going to get a ballsy rockstation in the area, and now its monday and we have one. The Buzz Rocks so far keep it up guys. Is satterfield still the PD?

Buzzard's been T&A from the get-go. MY .02 on the BUZZ........CC says cut budget....Firings happen....they're smart enough to distance from an already dilluted "Buzzard"....So they take the CC feed of an alternative. Syndicated AM's with Pencola breaks...then VTd or plugged into the CC BORG for eveything else. Grapevine says logs are not comin form GSO....how far behind are piped in jocks?

Tim Satterfield is still the PD.

Matt is still doing AM Drive as board op/producer, as he was for JB&B.

Road Kill Mama is also not on the air or website.

&, once again, at least it's not the "6am-12noon More Talk Less Rock Borefest w/2 Guys Named Chris on Rock 92".
 
within 3 months...Bob and Tom in the mornings. Mark my words...you heard it here first!! :D

P.S. I've been listening this afternoon, and I like what I'm hearing ;)
 
When are they going to get jocks? and do you think this type of station would work here. It sounds like an Alternative/Active Rock hybrid with a few classics thrown in. Didnt WEND from charlotte do good in greensboro. This station sounds like WEND and Project 9-6-1 in Atlanta combined. Im lovin it though ( sorry for the McDonalds pun there)
 
I like it and I hope they keep Pencola in AM drive. Bob & Tom suck a bag o' ass. If they do pipe in a CC show, look for them to try this one (out of Cleveland): http://www.roverradio.com/

I've heard hiss how a few times....it's no wonder he isn't on many stations anymore. I'm sure they'll pipe in a show. They just a massive firing over there. I really don't expect many live and local jocks....much less a morning show. I'd bet Lex & Terry maybe.
 
This is an active rock format? They play alot of alternative for an active! Ill take it though we needed one for a looooooooong time now. See ya 96rock, i havent listened to 96.1 in 2 days my radios been on 100.3 since they changed. I look for this station to have very good ratings ive already know people who love it. Spread the word about the Buzz, we need this station to stick around.
 
lol. JB&B have been gone on the air and off the website for 3+ months now. Pencola & Crash & Marko were doing mornings in the interim.

Monica has been off the station in a FT capacity for a year now. Crash, Marcia Gan, & Marko were let go last week. Deke's not been on the station outside of filling in for close to 9 months now.

The logs are being done by the new clear channel premium network thing they have going. Maybe some tweaking in house to remove anything Satterfield doesn't like (but he probably won't be able to keep up the tweaking on a daily basis). This means jocks will be tracked from wherever....San Diego, Portland, Tulsa, wherever CC get's their jocks from for this specific format.
 
Ya think this is why R92 was making those ridiculous attempts to freshen the playlist with Nirvana, Pearl Jam, 3 Doors Down, Nickelback and the like? You think they got the heads up that CC was going to polish that turd of a station @ 100.3? Hmmm...

Will they be able to sell it??? That's the question. Ratings don't matter if they cannot sell it. The advertisers are a lot of clubs and smoke shops etc. Those are small buys and usually cash. What happens to all the beer $$$ on WVBZ if the audience's age drops too far down??? It's not gonna be easy for them. The Active/Alt audience is also VERY quick to call BS on ya. It's probably the most important format to "live and breathe the lifestyle". That's gonna be hard to do when the station is likely to be 90% VTd.
