100.3 The Sound has revised their website

Also wanted to mention that while KSWD was a copy-cat of KLOS' idea (2 for Tuesdays on KLOS and Three for Thursdays on KSWD), since Haley Jones became the music director (or was it PD?) of KPRi San Diego, that station now subjects their "AAA" fans/audience to Album Side Wednesdays. Hmmmm wonder where Haley got that idea from?? ;)

How much is The Sound paying you to keep us updated on this stuff?

Didja know?

Also, didja know Andy Chanley and Julie Slater switched shifts? When did that happen?

http://www.thesoundla.com/

About a week or so ago... Doubt it'll matter much.

Then how can Andy "drop the needle on an album side just before he walks out the door at 8:00"? Did he mention that this isn't just any album side, this is vinyl so you can hear it just like you did back in the day, you know - when you were too stoned to notice the clicks and hisses and the recurring inner groove? He mentioned that, right? Thought so.

Ahhhh so you, musicfan101 think I am a Sound fan????!!!!???!!???? OMFG

I have not listened to them in about a year (a year ago, they still played a few AAA tracks)
It just so happens I was curious to see if they were still playing any artists like Elvis Costello, so I did a search on their website and discovered that they played "Pump It Up" twice in the last ten days or so, and "Everyday I Write The Book" once.

Noticing their revamped website, I thought it might be of general interest here to acknowledge it.

Any long time regulars probably know my feelings about the station. Suffice it to say, I am a die hard AAA format fan, applauded 100.3 The Sound when they hit the air at 10 am April 8, 2008 and they were a decent AAA station for about 6-9 months. Then they veered off into classic rock territory, achieving full circle just under a year ago.
If or when you have the time, I invite you to review one of the many threads I started about The Sound (its 16 'pages' worth) and please let me know if you still think that someone like me would ever be on KSWD's payroll LOL!!!!! Here's the link:

Dude (SuperRadioFan), you have got to move on. She (The Sound) is dating that Classic Rock guy now and she is much happier. Gawd forbid she actually marries him. Perhaps she will leave him for AC one day. But, she will not come back to you (AAA). I am sorry. Those are the cold hard facts. I too loved her once so I feel your pain. I flirted with KCSN for a little while but she's too eclectic for me. I like commercial AAA's better. See you at the next AAA meeting. :)

I don't think the issue is that they went classic rock. The AAA format simply cannot pull the ratings, so classic rock is the next viable alternative. The question is, why do they have to be such a bad classic rocker? Playing only the most tired, worn-out songs from only the most tired, worn-out artists. Combined with a lackluster, unimaginative presentation, the station has become painful to listen to. I have joined Super on-line.

I agree that KCSN is a bit eclectic compared to commercial AAAs, however it doesn't bother me as much and if they had some knowledgeable jocks to present the music, it could be a fine station. Although the lady from KCSN was on this board within the first few weeks of the new format launch promising some changes toward this direction, I haven't heard any yet. Couldn't they at least get some kid to back-announce the song title and artist? How hard could that be?
