Does spinning a format wheel attract any significant listeners to the baby frequency? I can quickly forget about 100kw stations that don't program anything that interest me.
They're going to end up urban. It is Mobile, AL after all.
My prediction: classic hip hop. That is what I would do.
100.3 is not the most solid translators around so something that is cheap will do. Like A jack type of format. I do see Classic Hip Hop coming to 107.3FM if there #s don't go up but we won't know that until next year. Lol.Classic hip hop is a hot format now, and would pull numbers from listeners from both urban and CHR formats. Will it last? who knows (it might go the path of Jack, Arrow, or groovin' oldies), but it won't be a big gamble on a translator.
So far clear channel has not done any classic hip hop stations (Mobile will get a hh station, and that is all I will say). There are several new sports networks that need a signal, and there is WNTM.
