Licensee: VERMONT BROADCAST ASSOCIATES, INC.

any guesses on what the fomat will be?
also any guesses on what happined to the construction permit on 106.9 for Brigton vt almost in the same area?

Isn't the station's transmitter going to be on Jay Peak (since WJPK in a way does spell-out "Jay Peak")??

Nothing but cows and farms around Barton! I'm guessing the kingdom will get a country signal from Vermont Broadcast Associates.

Couple things seem out of whack here. A Lyndonville/STJ based station will not get a good signal from Jay Peak. In my years up on Ozman's hill, 92MOO didn't come in at all.

If the station is based out of Barton, then it kind of makes sense. I think Joe is right on about the call letters.

As far as country goes, aren't there already two country stations in the area along with 'OKO being a fringe station in spots? I have no other guess as what maybe offered, though I do know that the rock market is vastly underserved up there. *tongue planted firmly in cheek*

Perhaps they're just simulcasting one of their existing stations, like WMTK, "The Notch 106.3," where it might be a bit weaker.

Even for its height, at its listed ERP I can't imagine it will be much of a flamethrower. (Correct me if I'm wrong, engineers!)

I hope it is rock . you think I should send my resume to the address they have posted on the fcc database for the hell of it? from what I have heard from people around here more people miss my show more then the people who hate it..
I hope it is rock because all I hear from people in the lyndonville VT area complain about how I am one of the only good rock dj's up here in the northeast kingdom. the best thing in the world would for it to be a rock station if not a relay of a rock station. what is VBA anyways. and what else do they own?

btw if it wasn't for moo relayed on 99.3 in st jay, I would probably be able to get 99rock barely. I also have been able to pick up 92.1 wmoo in lyndonville but not up at the college (maybe because of all the impulse's towers rf interference.)

Whatever they do, they won't be covering much. Their app calls for a directional antenna with a HUGE notch out to the north.

It can't hurt. Who knows, they may need board-ops, if you're willing to do grunt work for cheap. Anything to get your foot in the door.

Got some Arbitron numbers to back that up? Ha. With an attitude like that, don't expect to get very far in this business at all. You're in for a serious reality check if you think you're going to get your foot in the door that way, no matter how small the market.

Google up the phone number for WGMT in Lyndonville. Call them up and ask. Given your track record on these forums I bet you won't even follow up on this suggestion.

I'm willing to bet that "Mr College Shock jock" doesn't make any phone call eiuther,. He's expecting stuff to just be handed to him.. he needs to work work work for it.. Thats what i did!

for what its worth...

country format: will work. if signal reaches newport/derby and points south and east... ya you've got wike... if you are within derby limits... woko signal sucks there... and broadcasting from jay peak will give quite the coverage depending on erp... and not to mention the NEK could use another station to spice things up.

i heard nassau thought about a signal from the barton area... to intimidate northstar media into selling...

it was "sell to us or we'll put up this station and put you out of business"
