100.5 The Fox

I want my original 100.5 The Fox back. Who in the h%^& can hear this station in this area any more? 92.9 murders the measly signal of 93.1 on my tuner making it un-listenable. Who was the dumb-a$$ that decided that the current format at 100.5 is better than what was there before. I could drive from here in Danvillle to Six Flags and never touch my radio. Now I have to wait until I'm far enough from Lexington or close enough to Louisville to hear this great station. It's bad enough that Lexington has nothing to offer as far as rock, but the "powers to be" felt like 100.5 The Fox wasn't doing well enough to warrant the extra wattage. I know, I know, to hell with long distance loyal listeners right? Someone please thank the "powers to be" for granting the "upgrade" to 4100 watts on a shorter tower!!! I'm sorry but this crap pisses me off! I hear 96.5 WFTK from Cincinnati better than WTFX. Does anyone else besides me feel this way? I know a lot of people around here used to listen to 100.5 The Fox but are now left with nothing in the likes of good new rock. Thank You Clear Channel!!!

Its all pretty simple the suits don't care what we peeps think and i will take the fox anyday over louie yuk!!!to much burnt out tuneage louie

Well stop driving and cryin' too. WTFX streams online you know at 931thefox.com. Although Clear Channel isn't streaming anymore new stations for some reason it's still streaming the others loud , live, and crystal clear.
Heck with your driving - I know I could do it better than you.

What likely happened is that they wanted to launch their Louie format for strategic reasons. They knew the only way Louie would be successful would be to put it on a big signal. Had they put it on 93.1, it never would have gotten off the ground.

So between, 95.7, 97.5, 98.9, or 100.5, which one do you blow up for Louie to launch?

AMZ is obviously off the table.
If they blow up 98.9, DJX is back to an 8 share. Can't do that.
If they blow up 95.7, SFR gets a 7. Can't do that.

But 100.5 had a 2-3 share, and it's only competitor has a signal every bit as bad as 93.1. They made that flip and it hardly cost them a thing. They don't give a rat's tail if you can hear it in Danville!

Just to be clear, our streaming is at www.foxrocks.com. I'm not getting into any of the other stuff. It's been over 3 years and we're still at 93.1. That may be longer than any other format has survived there.

our? Who are you? The creator? Sorry I got the website wrong - my error. This guy complains about stuff you can get online! Geez! I barely remember 100.5 The Fox.

Craven works for the Fox, and has done so for far longer than you can remember.

BTW- who are you?

Who am I? If you only knew! No I wasn't talking entirely about Craven in my last post. I was also mentioning that the OP of this thread is complaining about things that can get easily resolved by listening online.

I am the one radio stations rely on to keep them going. Who else is there to tell em about crappy songs, broken streams, to get them to fixing their sound boards, etc. I read this board and all the others. It's a wonder why they don't ask me permission before changing format, I do so much for them. I post everywhere I see fit to comment. I don't get why in the world someone cares about coverage area when you can listen to it online.

Let's celebrate with champagne then! Bet he isn't making as much when he first started due to this bad economy!

I think he was talking about listening in the car. Although, I doubt if we're very far away from a time when you can dial up the internet in the car, too.

The standard response to a lot of my "issues" with reception is streaming. That's garbage. I've even been told I need to move. How about that? All I want to do is hear the stations such as The Fox on a ordinary Sony car tuner. Is that TOO much to ask for? I do stream this station because that's the only choice I have. I didn't even mention that there is another 93.1 from Monticello, Ky that is country that ALSO gets in my grill. I support 93.1 The Fox by listening to it the best way I can. How many stations could sell advertising time to a business if the only way to get the message out there was through streaming???? Furthermore, I've listened to stations that stream who interrupt the stream during commercials!! Fact is that 100.5 should have been left alone. This mess 100.5 now reminds me 100.9 Mike FM. "We play anything, any-ole way, and hope you don't hit the seek button".

WOW! 100.5 THE FOX!! loved that station...even when i was across the street. (I hate to say it!!!!) they had a great staff! (The PD was a jerk! )but the talent on that station was the best in the market at that time.I know Vennitt is at the classic rocker, does anyone know what happen to the rest of the talent???? One thing I can say, they did a great job with there local talent.Guys! the 50 something guys in charge in that market are killing most of the stations there. maybe oneday someone will see that!

All the suits seem to think we peeps in the ville want to here classic rock/hits all the time as evident by the new 93.9 and the number of stations that play that kinda music which is like 5. very sad they can't think outside the box.
