That countdown was a straight up/down countdown to 2,000. This computerized countdown sounds exactly like the one they used at KNJY Spokane when they flipped from Z-Rock to 103.9 The Hawk in May of 1999 - complete with localized wisecracks...

According to the memo sent to advertisers, here's a summary of the changes:
- BJ to mornings on KISW (shocker!)
- Ricker moves to middays
- The Men's Room moves to PM drive on KISW
- The Wolf signs on at noon on 100.7
- Scott Mahalick from Citadel takes over as Wolf PD
No word on the fate of Leykis, Robin and Maynard or anyone else effected by the changes on either station.

That stupid digitized T-MINUS countdown would be the same one the JACK flips were preceded by would it not? Speculation? Stunt? Flip? I thought the BUZZ could not sink faster than with R&M on and Leykis chopped to smithereens, but now I will drop kick my radio clean thru the uprights. I could sense the stink of death on KQBZ the minute they dropped Tom Martino from weekends ....

Sounds like Entercom is once again making sure everyone knows how f-ed up they are. I am "old school," but with the web channel I listen to and Stern on satellite, radio is about obsolete, and it can just about kiss my ass.
In another 5-10 years, it would be interesting to see how viable the radio format will be, advertising wise. Satellite will be standard in every car. "The Wolf"...Entercom can't figure out that modern country is in a slump, and NW audiences are getting more sophisticated, not less...
