Matt Carter is talking on the air about a change....."a return to the southland" is going to happen around 2pm September 1st.

What does this mean to YOU?

A. A jock is returning to the station after being gone a while.
B. They are bringing back 100dot7 The Bus to the southland
C. They are flipping to an oldies type format
D. They will now be 100.7 Will Rock Rocks!

to the site there is nobody listed for the 2pm shift in
afternoon drive? could it be a new afternoon jock?

I looked at the site yesterday....and the normal afternoon drive girl, Rachel Rivstar, was still on there photo and all.....now I look after you mention this, and she is gone!

They definitely blowing it up...

Heard Flounder tonight talk about the song "I Can't Drive 55" by saying how they used to play that at another "former station" he worked at -- 96-7 Will Rock -- before that went off the air and then going on about the change coming at 2pm Thursday and joking that if anyone listening knows what it is to call him and tell him becuase he'd like to know if he has a 3-day weekend coming up.

Think it will go Oldies now with the demise of 104.3. Always thought RXQ was a little bit too close to ERV.

LoL....could be a good part of the stunt. This is the same Flounder that said another station was probably coming to 96.7....back when they hired Vlaz and they stunted like Energy was coming to 96.7...Flounder said his good-bye like it was all the jocks last day.

I am surprised they had clung to classic rock this long. Almost the entire WRXQ listening area is covered by 97.1 The Drive. The north half competes with 95-9 The River. The easternmost coverage is overlapped by X-Rock 103.9. Southwest goes up against Thunder 93.7. And, even with the ludicrous yet memorable Pickle moniker, 105-5 The Pickle plays an arguably more attractive choice of classics. As for the harder classics, The Loop has that covered.

Bring on true Oldies, or some incarnation of 100.7 Will Rock!
