100.7 the River flipping to active rock after the holidays?

Wait Wait Wait--- I don't live in Raleigh so forgive my ignorance but you said "Radio 96.1"??? Are they owned by Clear Channel?

Look, I'm not a fan of Clear Channel but there is one station that Clear Channel has but allows the program director to pick the songs which makes the station unique. The name of the station is "RADIO 104.5" out of Philly. Check out the playlist which is strongly alternative/indie. I bring this up only because you said that 96.1 was now called Radio 96.1. If they are owned by clear channel, I smell something in the works.

Radio 96.1 is WBBB, owned by Curtis Media Group.
They were 96Rock until early December, I think it was.
As 96Rock they went through different rock phases over the past 10-12 years: sometimes classic, sometimes leaning more active, sometimes leaning 80s hair bandy.
As Radio 96.1 they seem to be playing more variety hits from the 80s to today, but not dance or country or AC.
