100.9 no longer K-Love

I was looking at K-Love's web site and 100.9 is no longer listed on K-Love's web site. I wonder what they are going to do?

Everyone will find out this weekend.

I scanned by the frequency on Tuesday. They were running a loop informing listeners that "100.9 will be going off the air, but tune into K-Love at 94.7." It was a continuous loop -- no other programming there.

100.9 this morning is dark. Instead of the continuous loop, they are dark. From my location in Forest, I hear WKBB instead. But the radio I have can pick up signals far away during the day.

I hope they bring it back on the air with Rock. I really miss Jack, but other stations in the market cover the music they play. Who else is playing Disturbed or Avenge Sevenfold?

BTW, I was just out in the car and I heard Y101 on 100.9. I don't know if it was Y's signal bleeding over or if 100.9 is simulcasting Y101.

I've heard that before. It is an intermod problem with 101.7 FM and 780 AM. The only time you hear it is when 100.9 is off the air. Try listening tonight after 780 signs off - it should be gone.

but wouldn't you hear US 96.3 in the background of 100.9 since 780 is simulcasting 96.3? I remember you used to be able to hear 780 bleed into 101.7 from time to time.

101.7 and 780 are on the same tower. The FM and AM frequencies will mix and create intermod issues. Apparently one of the spurs falls close to 100.9. It was a lot worse years ago, but I think their engineer got most of it worked out. I listened to 100.9 for a while this morning and didn't hear anything.

WJXN 100.9 "The greatest Radio of All Time" Currently listening to "The Lone Ranger" Most of this stuff is probally in the public domain.

Just means the LMA has ended and Flinn has taken control back over until some new leases the station. We have a LPTV owned by Flinn here in Memphis that is a bunch of public domain type movies playing on shuffle from a Sony DVD player.

Regarding the Memphis TV station, the signal is on 23.2, 1M watts; also 34.1 in Senatobia, 20kw. They dropped the DVD player about 2 months ago. But it [the DVD player] has resurfaced on 33 and 46, playing public domain cartoons and children's programs.
