100.9 The Zone Toledo

I love this station. Not so much the music, it's still....."Toledo's new music revolution! Here's a Candlebox song from 1995!", but they have NO FREAKIN' COMMERCIALS! Except for the quick "steals and deals" promos all Cumulus Toledo stations run, and even those don't start with Norm Wamer hollering "Steeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeals and Deals!" like on the rest of 'em.

Seriously, everyone who can actually get this station should tune in. Radio without a single "cliick..cliick..cliick....YARK AUTO DOT COOOOOMM!!!", "Safelite repaaaaaair, Safelite replace!" "CAAAAAAAAR STEREO ONE!", etc. It's awesome.

So much for Coast "Country" 100.9 snatching any WKKO listeners up that way.

Other industry boards have been discussing 100.9/The Zone moving to 100.7 soon. In Toledo recently I heard first the station promoting this change on air. I echo other peoples opinion that thus far this frequency has been a mess for all involved.

Why move to 100.7? ???

From what I was reading, they were getting heavy complaints from WRIF listeners when they lit up on 100.9 (WRIF is, of course, on 101.1). It's in the FCC filing to change back to 100.7.

Not to mention the interference being caused to and by other stations on the same frequency.

Which stations? 100.9 puts them on the same frequency as BAS' WMJK/Clyde (now "Coast Country"), but I assume that's far enough away from Toledo for a translator. Ditto with WMMS/Cleveland on 100.7...
