100 FM The Pike and WTAG

Some central Massachusetts ramblings...

On 100.1 WWFX "The Pike", Mike McGowan and Chris Engle are hosting a show. On a Sunday morning, none the less. I'm guessing that they're testing out a potential morning show for the station, breaking the jockless streak the station had for the first 6 months. I first thought it was a public service show (being Sunday morning), but after listening a couple minutes, I was proven wrong.

On 580 WTAG, I've noticed that the Red Sox broadcasts are running with about a 15 second delay behind WEEI. Usually the affiliate station run with about a 1 or 2 second delay, but WTAG is running much behind the rest. Is Clear Channel delaying sports... ooh, Chris Engle just did a live station ID "WWFX Southbridge/Worcester"... sorry, is CC delaying sports broadcasts now, and for what reason? Are they afraid that the crowd mic is suddenly going to pick up some foul language? Really weird and bad, terrible if you're among the many that like to turn down the TV and turn up Joe and Jerry.

WTAG is HD now. As required they're delaying the ANALOG & DIGITAL audio.
