I don't have it... but when you get it I will give YOU ten bucks for a dub!

Congratulations to Robert from Akron who won my $100 reward for a Johnny Andrews WHLO 1960's aircheck. Johnny Andrews himself was also kind enough to send me another of him on WHLO. Thanks guys. It's nice to finally find one I've been searching for over many years.

Here's a site that you probably already know about, Reel Radio, http://www.reelradio.com but for those who don't know about it, people can send in airchecks they have of Top 40 stations from the 50's thru maybe the mid-70's or so. You need to make a donation that lasts a year to listen, I think it starts around $15. No WHLO, but there's some WHK, KYW, WKYC, WIXY, WJW (Alan Freed and Mad Daddy), and quite a few CKLW airchecks. Don't need to join to search. Some checks are scoped, some unscoped.

Dang, I'm going to have to dig into my old cassette tapes from the late 60s thru the 70s to see what stations I have. I know I have some old WWST out of Wooster sometime around Christmas time.

A friend of mine a couple years ago shared a CD of Station Id's and sign-offs both Radio and TV covering the entire area from Pittsburgh to Detroit, Cleveland, Columbus and Cincinnati and just about all points in between. Ive shared some scattered bits of them along the way but I want to put them all in a playlist as a permanent part of my blog..Problem is , the CD is wav files and most players are mp3..Seems too hard, though I havent tried in awhile.

These Id's, etc..are from possibly the late 30's..(WLW sign-off-500KW) through the mid-60's including quite a bit of Cleveland TV audio from the late 1950's..also a half hour Bill Randle Show from 1956-WEWS ive talked about in my Blog a long while back..

And if you contribute several airchecks, jingle reels, commercials, etc... to reelradio, I believe that any future membership renewals are waived.

I have a few older things from the 60s and some from the 80s that someday I will get around to sending to Uncle Ricky @ reelradio.com.
