1000 MHZ Band.

Has anyone noticed in the latest digital scanners (trunking or non trunking) they have been deleting the 1000 -1300 MHZ band out of the receivers. I know this band has been used for aviation purposes....but anyone know why this band hasn't been excepted in the latest digital receivers from Uniden and radio shack or the company that makes it for them.

Maybe they think there is no activity in that range??

I cant think of any other reason... (Anything classified going on in that area?)

960-1164 MHz: Aeronautical navigation
1164-1215 MHz: Aeronautical and satellite navigation
1215-1240 MHz: Satellite navigation, earth exploration-satellite, space research, & radiolocation
1240-1300 MHz: Amateur Radio (secondary service), plus all in 1215-1240 MHz

Nothing to listen to other than in the ham band.

Yea i knew about 1240-1300 (Didnt no of the other stuff)

Maybe its that stuff they are trying to protect..

Good thing I held on to my RS 2035 which has the band. But I'm just as guilty hardly ever monitoring it where how would I know how active it is. I just noticed they have been deleting that band just like the 800 MHZ cell band.
