100jrz, 70's, 80's, 90's & Now! What do you think??

I started my career at WJRZ. Is another day of the "Love Rock" format like The Breeze, 96 FPG, 92 OBM, and all the NYC channels sneaking in is what we want to listen to? I think we are love rock'd out!!

I have a sound in mind for my ol' friend WJRZ.

Greater Media is a really company.

What would you do?

JRZ should do one of two things - go back to playing Classic Hits as 100.1 WJRZ, or go back to what REALLY worked great - "Oldies 100." Or maybe talk, but that takes $$$, and GM won't spend that on WJRZ. Hell, they just let Don Kelly (PD of WMJX and format captain for AC) go, and he racked up more #1 24-54 books in Boston with Magic 106.7. If they let someone like THAT go, I doubt they care about JRZ.

Enough stations in the market play 80's thru today tunes - play something that's missing in Ocean...y'know...OLDIES!

The market really needs a Talk format. We're too far south to get the NYC stations, too far east to get the Philly stations, and too far north to get the low-power talk stations from AC/Cape May. What the area is truly missing is a station with a combination of local and syndicated talent, providing the area with information, news and discussion 24/7. This kind of station has what it takes to be the strongest station that broadcasts out of Ocean Co. And let's face it ... if Ocean were its own market or not coupled with Monmouth, this move would have happened yesterday. Whether GM likes it or not, the soft rock format that is Magic 100.1 is showing no signs of improvement. It's time to move on to something that will work.

I was there twice. First in '76 and then from '05 to '07...when I was told I made "too much money." Note: the station had its highest cume in it's history during my tenure. Go figure. BE BIG!
