YES! I'm 35 miles south of Indianapolis and haven't heard them in years but they are there this morning. Audio sounds better than it did in the past and as noted, in stereo. Welcome back WSGS!

We'll see how long they stay in stereo this time around, but I'm glad they are back!

Oh stereo? Doesn't mono travel further? Their other station WKIC formally WZQQ 97.9 is also in stereo as well. Not a powerful station comes in decent in the Hollars.

I've had an email dialog going with Shane Sparkman at WSGS and he reports that they are back on the tower that they used until 1985 but that they are not yet at full power (he didn't say how much power they have at this time). He expects full power service to return in about a month. These people are notorious for filing FCC paperwork...if I'm reading this right, what I heard this morning was about 3KW at 500' or so above ground (!).

Per Shane at WSGS...3-4KW 1 bay antenna is what made it to Indiana this morning--with 7/8" feedline. New 40KW Harris transmitter is on the way along with a new full class C antenna. Stand by for a flamethrower.

It was strange twist back in the mid eighties that the two AM's licensed to Hazard (WKIC and WQXY) were stereo while the commercial FM (WKIC sister station) WSGS was mono.
