First of all, the public Nielsens ONLY report the 6+ numbers without any demographics or dayparts. So all you see are the totals. That metric isn't very useful for anything.
Second of all, they ONLY report radio stations that encode. So if people listen to Sirius or Spotify, nothing is reported.
During the pandemic, there was a spike in reports for classical radio stations. But classical radio listening didn't actually increase. Just that listening to other stations decreased due to lack of commuting and in-car listening. So it's possible that the listening to WUBT hasn't increased, but that overall radio listening has decreased to the point where WUBT's share of the total is larger. I'm not saying that's what happened, but it's one possible explanation.
Nashville Radio - read the last 1000 or so posts where BigA has said the Nashville ratings suspect. When you only get results for 17 people....ya KDF, then Y'all...then Beat...while everyone else does not loose enough to allow for ratings to double. What do I knowwwww... . That one is for Father's Day, BigA. HFD everyone who is a dad. Seriously, the ratings, as a whole, have issues in ole market #40.
