101.5 FM in Brighton

I've been noticing for a while a signal on 101.5 FM that seems to be broadcasting somewhere along Washington Street between Brighton Center and Oak Square. They've been broadcasting audio from a sports station. Haven't been able to listen to it long enough to tell what sports station it's broadcasting, but it sounds like ESPN. The signal also briefly interferes with 101.7 WFNX, especially right in front of the plaza where Starbucks and Quiznos is. The signal cuts out by the time you reach either Oak Square in one direction and the intersection of Washington and Market Streets in the other direction. Has anyone else heard this?

Someone may be using a small part 15 transmitter to re-broadcast ESPN's audio so it can be heard around the house or out in the back yard. These part 15 transmitters are readily available on the internet. If mounted high enough you could hear the signal for a couple of blocks on a good reciever.

Going a little off topic here - I just drove up rt 95 from "down south" and noticed alot of little part 15 transmitters in cars with satellite radio. I got to listem to Howard Stern for at least 20 minutes while in Virginia. The car eventually turned off.

The car turned off the highway, or turned off the radio?

I would have thought that you, of all posters, would already have your own HD system installed in your car.
