Free FM is GREAT!!! You may be to OLD to enjoy this type of radio but it is very entertaining!
Entertaining? That's debatable. I suppose if 3 egomaniac L.A.-centric hosts discussing completely irrelevant or Los Angeles related issues (one in the same I guess) classifies "FREE" as entertaining then so be it. However, the ratings would certainly agree that "the triplets" are a piece of the puzzle that doesn't work. Tom Leykis was entertaining in 1989, but now he's a vocally challenged, 4 hour stuck record, where the "topics" are virtually the same day-after-day. His show reminds of Pat McBland, except he's the R rated version; he engages in toaster talk as well "here's the topic, what do you think, give me a call." Tom Leykis ought to send about 90% of his paycheck to Howard Stern and admit he's just another lousy clone like Dopie and Agony.
Adam Carolla is talented, but Danny brings his show down significantly. Some of you may remember when Danny Bonnadouchebag was on in Phoenix in the early 90s, there's a reason he got run otu of the valley.
If Big O and Dukes are the best FREE-FM has to offer, and they are, then that's rather sad commentary. They do have talent, but some of the shtick is just a bit too much to take. Of course there's the repetitive canned programming on the overnights and weekends, why not have "free rock" in those time periods? Or let some other talent have a shot.
The one-share wonders are just not cutting it, there's little redeeming value to FREE-FM. By the way, I'm in their target demographic and can safely say, it doesn't relate to me at all.
