101.5 Sunny Radio Leaves the Air

The 80's music station which was broadcast from the W268AN translator (relaying WVIP HD3) is now online only. Its Facebook page blames the pandemic, and lack of sponsors. It was on the air for only about a year.

That translator has been a format wheel. Nothing really succeeded on it. It’s only 10 watts and frequent tropo brings in NJ 101.5 many times during the summer. Just bring back the party to Nassau county!

According to AllAccess, the translator on 101.5 is being sold. It will apparently be used to rebroadcast WGBB 1240 AM. That station airs mostly Chinese language programming.
Since Sunny Radio was taken off the air at the beginning of the month, it has been rebroadcasting WVOX 1460 AM, in Westchester County.
