101.5

Hello all:

I'm here in Waukegan, IL & I've been hearing a station on 101.5 that I can't figure out. They're playing Christian music with dead space in between the songs like it was from a CD or a jukebox player. I've heard no ID. The nearest 101.5s in South Bend, IN, Bloomington, IL & Madison, WI haven't changed formats to my knowlege. Could this be a pirate?

I'm just curious

I heard that in Zion as well as parked in Kenosha facing south. I've been trying to figure out the same thing.

My bet would be on WLGS-LP Lake Villa.

(though there was a really powerful pirate on that frequency in Schaumburg in the late 1990s...)

Yes, "101 Plus - The Choice" WZCM from "Z-Com Radio" is still on the air along with "Jim's Radio" on 92.1 that overpowers Power 92 near Hoffman Estates High School..........

92.1 is pretty weak, but I'd like to know how the hell 101 Plus is still on and he aint got caught yet with that signal!

FYI

Considering its in mono, thats probably the case. I'll have to check it out when I head out in that direction next week.

Calvary Chapel owns WLGS. What makes no sense is why they need it when they already got a translator on 89.1 in Lake Villa (W206AI) unless they're going to chop that off to allow WBSD Burlington to upgrade (doubt that)
______________
