101.5

On my journey to listen to 94.1 I started scanning the radio and it stopped on 101.5 FM from 45 and Broadway now I am in the Heights and I am still listening to the station a guy is preaching in Spanish

Sounds like one of the 65% of the LPFM applicants during the last filing window.

Radio Amistad 101.5 they are announcing the new signal in Houston also on 1400 am. The radio DJ said we are going to be off the air for a few minutes please bear with us in the meantime you can continue to listen on 1400 a.m.

On my evening commute the 101.5 KHCB translator had a fairly good signal near downtown and along the Katy Freeway inside the Loop. Along 290 it got a little choppy with KLJJ occasionally being heard. At 290 @ The Beltway the two were fighting it out. Along the Beltway KLJJ began to dominate when heading north of West Road. At my Cy-Fair location KLJJ is on top, but disturbed by the translator.

The two stations are far enough apart that there won't be any real problems for them in their usable service areas. However my location is well within the range of the future KOER, which will add more to the pileup on 101.5.

Speaking of pileups, the new translator will also cause grief to KHSX, should it ever get on the air.

 According to FCC data base, KOER filed to modify its CP, 6-9-16, just under the wire, they changed antenna sites and dropped off all of their commitments used for extra points in the LPFM filing, Their CP expired 6-25-16 but application is under Tolling code: "Administrative review", seems they have a opened ended CP, other applicants could only wish for. and KHXS got a 36 month CP, When most every other LPFM applicant got 18 months. it was issued 2-2-15 expires 2-2-18, Go Figure.
