101.7 Format Speculations....

I was driving around a bit Tuesday afternoon around Avon, and just on a hunch, tuned in 101.7FM to hear what was on, if at all possible. And lo and behold, I caught a significant trace of the loop on WJER-FM, sandwiched in between WDOK and WRIF!!! Just like Trefney, it was just audiable enough to be heard.

And this is in AVON - 100 MILES AWAY from the former tx, and with powerful co-adjacents in-between!!!

Based on that alone, I'd be hopeful to nab WHOF from the new tx... not quick enough to get whatever format is taken, but a miracle nonetheless...

Until it signed off sometime this (Wed.) morning, 101.7 was on the regular Strasburg stick. They never lit up the AUX transmitter (1.1KW) at the studios on Boulevard.

The new signal will be larger - 6KW - but...you're not getting it down in Wintersville. Maybe in Avon, if you null out enough...
