wouldn't WIMP be more appro po?

When are you going to let it go? WRXP IS DEAD BECAUSE NO ONE LISTENED TO IT EXCEPT PEOPLE THAT ADVERTISERS DON'T WANT! IT'S NOT COMING BACK! DEAL WITH IT!

I listened to 101.9 from 4:30 - 5:00 PM today while the RDS feed said WRXP. At 6:40 PM it read WEMP. 101.9 HD2 still played smooth jazz with the WEMP calls.

As they should be; certainly, the WRXP calls don't scream "heritage" as much as those of WKQX, which were "parked" on another Randy Michaels-owned (non-Merlin) station in suburban Chicago in favor of the WWWN calls, which were previously assigned to the aforementioned non-Merlin Chicago rimshot.

WEMP are the official calls as of yesterday.

WEMP-Reminds me of Scott Shannon in 1983 making fun of WPLJ (aka WIMP) playing Debby Boone records from their studios at the Golden Dragon Chinese restaurant.

Oh, I get it... "Your ex"... Won't make a lick of sense if there's no "X" in the positioning...
