101.9 KNOE

You asked for opinions, heres mine!

IMO They still have a long way to go. Still no consistency from jock to jock. IMO the mid day girl talks entirely to much as well as the afternoon guy. They should leave all the talk for Mornings. Im not to sure how all the recent name changing is going to affect the ratings. The music could be tightened up, and since they have went chr again, they need to pump up the processing to be more aggressive. There are several things Id like to see happen up there, that IMO would make them dominate the market or at least be #2.

Re: 101.9 KNOE / B97

just my two cents as well........i don't live in north louisiana, so i don't get to here KNOE regularly. last time i did hear them, it was depressing. i am in the same boat as jingle freak. i think they should tighten up more and pump up the processing, especially now that they're a chr.

why is it that engineers and pd's these days insist on a chr's processing to sound like that of a soft or jazz station?!?!?!?!?! chr is supposed to be aggressive,...............period. i know we're getting hd radio and they want the analog stations to sound like hd, but it's not even close. those that say it's too 80's to have jingles on a chr or punchy processing, should not associate with the format. (hence b97. the only STALE chr station in this city -- no jingles; processing so sibilant, it's like a tin can; novice dj's; etc). what ever happened to the stations we all grew to love for so many years?!?!?!

some pd's think there is no alternative to jingles than the ones they heard in 1978. hello........many jingle companies have come a LONG way! for instance, N2Effect.com has pretty nice chr packages. check it out sometime..............

The answer is two words...Michael Kaplan. Great track record. Look what he did to the Entercom properties in Kansas City. He leveled them like a tornado.
