101.9 pirate station in atlantic city

nd2023

Banned
I noticed a pirate station in Atlantic City a few weeks ago. It was strongest near the Borgata and Harrah's. I heard it up to Absecon. And like most of the pirate in this state, it had a Caribbean format. It made Q102 unlistenable in the Marina area, and still bled on to 102.1 near Caesar's.
Pretty soon, every large city in NJ will be infested with pirates. Newark, Paterson, the Oranges, Elizabeth, Trenton, and now Atlantic City have their own pirate stations.

It would be easier if they broadcasted on 101.3, isnt their a ransmitter or LPFM station on 101.7 that can be heard in AC?

I don't think that LPFM is on all the time, since I could hear Kiss 101.7. The Borgata is on the north end of AC. The pirate was strong enough to be listenable inside the parking garage of Harrah's. It probably has a clear shot across the bay to Absecon. The owner of the LPFM should complain about the pirate, as it is taking out a significant chunk of its audience.
I'm just amazed at how pirate stations are popping up everywhere in NJ and none of them are being shut down.

I think it would be more appropriate and true to say that all Rock and Country oriented pirates were shut down at once, where the so-called minority pirates continue to spew their garbage. I recall a Metal pirate in Ocean County a few years back, that the FCC shut down after a few weeks. The same with a Country pirate in the same area, trying to fill the void, when their were no country outlets, the Chicken S*** FCC went after them relentlessly..... and these were English speaking formats, you never know what is being said and plotted with these south island violators. Double Standards....we all know the score.

The rock and country pirates might have been run till they got a warning letter, and then they shut down themselves. The Caribbean pirates ignore such letters, and the fines are never enforced. $500 worth of parking tickets would get a car towed away, but a $10,000 FCC fine will do nothing.

What you probably heard was WMRS 101.7 LPFM, Mainland Regional High School. They enjoy a wonderful signal for their power. Antenna in nearby Linwood, about 10 miles as the crow flies.

I was 10 miles from Trump Marina today (standing where I could see the tower) and got the following:

*it should be noted that there were fair DX conditions today due to enhanced tropospheric ducting so I wouldn't say this is "typical".

101.7 - WMRH-LP and WJKS fighting it out, both fairly strong
101.9 - traces of WRXP and WLIF fighting it out, but mostly static
102.1 - WIOQ weak

If there is a pirate on 101.9 it must be very low power.

Maybe the pirate isn't on the air all the time. I heard it on a Saturday evening in May
