101 The Rose

...At least 15 minutes.

Trust me, it'd be more than 15 minutes that I will have them off, it will be until the 26th of December!!! I am not a XMAS fan and I am hoping they fare well.

Should be interesting to see the ratings that come out of this, hope it is good for their sake!!!

'Atta boy!!

We are having fun here aren't we, this may be the funnest topic on the board!!! 8)

Yep, did'n listen today I enjoyed the Rocky Allen Showgram and Race Taylor, although I really missed Patsy Sympson and Michael C. Anthony alot, but Rocky and race did great. Matter of fact I heard the new Goo Goo Dolls's song "Let Love In" and Mat Kearney's "Nothing Left To Lose", great songs!!! Hoope to hear them on the Rose next year, if it fairs well at AC.

So it was a "Bad Day" but It'll Be Okay!!! The time will pass sooner than we know it!!! :)

Well its looking a little bit earlier for my return to my 101 The Rose!!! My friends, Alicia and Jessica have just told me they are holding an XMAS party at U of D on December 16th!!! And our host for music will be The Rose!!! We will be probably drinking too much egg nog to know what is going on after a couple of hours!!!

Then they will be on also on the 17th for my Uncle's XMAS party in Scranton, PA!!! and my other XMAS party with my friends Deiter and Denny on the 23rd in Lititz!!!

And then from that point forward I will actually enjoy the music since it will be the week before and my boyfriend will be ready to shop!!! What can I say procrastinator!!!!

Until the 16th, well same thing!!! Although that is cool with the cookies contest and the share the blessing stuff on their site, cool stuff!!!

Hey, could we have some sort of IQ test for posters on this thing? Or at least a damn spelling test? Or at least something that screens out people who haven't figured out spellcheck?

Bad enough putting up with orgasmic critiques of an AC playing the same tunes all ACs play (oh, the Rose is fine--really--they're just... uh, fine), but the spelling and the grammar are gruesome. What's this guy (?) do at Drugworld? Sweep up? Oh, wait, he's probably a chemist. A doctorate in Chem doesn't require English 101, does it!

Jack and Coke, if you don't like this section of the board then do not come on and read it, it is simple!!!

BTW, I do make some typos, but so does everyone!!!

I am not a chemist sorry to say, I operate the whole entire site at Astra Zeneca, everything that comes in this site has to come either through my partner or me!!! 8)

On another note, I have a 3.5 current GPA in the University of Delaware one of the most highly accredited schools in the country!!! We are almost an Ivy League School our classes are so hard. BTW, my next class is English 312-Written Coomunications in Business. :p

BTW, The Rose is the best in central PA and this is a place here we talk about them and their music which is AC!!! :) Or for that fact, have fun with it like some have had like Pastywhitethighs, but its all good cause its fun!!! So enjoy it, have fun with it, or leave!!!

BTW, everyone who has participated in this section and for the staff at 101 The Rose, HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!! I hope they are eating lots of turkey, enjoying the fact they are the BEST of the BEST, and enjoying time with family as I will be doing the next four days!!! Have a great holiday, Tom Richards, Val Baldwin, Michael C. Anthony, Pasty Sympson, Wayne Gracie, Fran Martin, Tara, Tom Shannon and anyone who I might have missed!!!

Sheesh... Jackandcoke... relax...

I find it refreshing that someone actually posts to the forum and is actually is excited about a local radio station. Why barrage them with personal attacks? That's not right.

Maybe you need to lay off the Jack and coke for a little while...

Pasty, huh? Hmm... kinda' gives Patsy a whole new image, doesn't it? Sounds like a porno star or a stripper. I wonder if her husband, Dave-O Thompson knows about this. Knowing Pasty -er, Patsy- she'll get a kick out of this.

Trust me, You don't want to see me doing porn or stripping.

Let's leave it at that...

Happy Thanksgiving Y'all

I'm curious. Just exactly what do you have against Christmas music?

Personally, of the three area stations running 24/7 Xmas, I'm liking WROZ's presentation the best. I'm very particular about my Christmas music, so I can honestly say that my bias towards my friends there has nothing to do with it.

Please elaborate. What is your problem with Christmas?

Scooter, I am glad you are enjoying the XMAS music on The Rose, I plan to join in on it when I have my XMAS parties coming up!!! I also would agree with you that it is a no-brainer that The Rose's version of anything is better than WARM and MIX 106.7. I adore everything about them, even the XMAS brigade which I am sorry I can't stomach but only for special events. I have and never will be a XMAS music fan even with The Rose doing it. I like their involvement in the various activities that surround XMAS like the XMAS cookies cookoff. Would I go see the movie "Deck The Halls?" Damn right I would!!!

My friends and I are the same, we don't like XMAS music because of its content and the overall sound of them. They get on my nerves after a couple hours. I am so happy for you that you can enjoy it and are particular about it, but I will never join you in that opinion. I agree however, that The Rose even with the XMAS is the best in Central PA and around the world.

Christmas to me is a fun time of year for me, family gatherings that I don't see on a regular basis, my FRAT XMAS party (which is so f**king hot), seeing my friends, eating lots of (good food), enjoying the time with what will probably be my soon to be husband, and just chilling from school (in which my finals will be over on the 14th). I like Christmas, don't like the music!!! TIME TO PARTY THEN!!!

My mom and dad also don't like XMAS music because it is almost "too sweet."

So in conclusion (like in a college paper), The Rose is the best no matter what is on and I am happy that people are enjoying their XMAS music, supporting them, but I can't stand the XMAS music on an everyday basis!!! I don't certainly think I am the only one who thinks that way. Let's just say Michael C and Tom Shannon are the best programmers in the area, period!!! They even make XMAS fun!!! :)

I will say Scooter, for craps and giggles I will return to The Rose to see how long I can make it!!!

Scooter, I took a listen to them today, they do sound good even with the Christmas music on!!!! But I have to say, they were a BAD influence on me and my friends cause after an hour, we went out shopping for stuff for us, earlier than we expected!!! ;D :p This is what I got my friends for XMAS music wise. They are all artists played on The Rose. Alicia loved the fact that her ONLY favorite XMAS music Trans Siberian Orchestra was well represented!!!

However, it only took me three hours and I had to let it go!!! I am during this time of year embracing the "harder" side of my musical tastes like Stone Sour, Disturbed, Shinedown, and Steely Dan. So I am back to WPLJ/CDs for now but will listen at least two hours from this point forward!!! Love that new Stone Sour "Through Glass" it is a damn shame its too hard probably for The Rose!!!

So this is my gifts

Denny got Corinne Baliey Rae's debut CD!!!
Deiter got Nickelback-All The Right Reasons
Alicia got Pure 80's CD including Yes's "Owner Of A Lonely Heart"
Jessica got Rob Thomas-Something To Be (finally!!!)

Thanks Rose for getting my shopping done for my friends and family sooner!!!

BTW, I will be working at Astra Zeneca's Newark Maunfacturing Plant tommorrow and The Rose will be the featured station for the XMAS party!!! Just got an e-mail from the operations person done there. Cool beans!!!

That has some cool tunes, like "Fight for All the Wrong Reasons," "Photograph,"
and "Someone that You're With."

What else is on that rekkid?

C-PA should have an '80s station. There was an '80s format on 102.3 for a while
(circa 2002), which dissolved into whatever. Bruce Bond and Stretch hosted the
morning show. They may've been the only jox.

Aging Xer, these are the songs on that CD and they are all number ones.

1. Eye Of The Tiger - Survivor
2. Owner Of A Lonely Heart - Yes
3. Addicted To Love - Robert Palmer
4. Everybody Wants To Rule The World - Tears For Fears
5. Don't You (Forget About Me) - Simple Minds
6. Higher Love - Steve Winwood
7. What's Love Got To Do With It - Tina Turner
8. Every Breath You Take - The Police
9. Arthur's Theme (Best That You Do) - Christopher Cross
10. The Living Years - Mike + The Mechanics
11. When I See You Smile - Bad English
12. Kyrie - Mr. Mister
13. Kiss On My List - Daryl Hall & John Oates
14. Down Under - Men At Work
15. Karma Chameleon - Culture Club
16. She Drives Me Crazy - Fine Young Cannibals
17. Maniac - Michael Sembello
18. All Night Long (All Night) - Lionel Richie

My favorite on the CD is Hall & Oates-Kiss On My List followed by Mr Mister-Kyrie

The Rose plays all 80's on Friday only and then once a month, they have a weekend of all 80's!!! II love their selection of 80's but then again that could be a bias statement, but I think it is great. They know how to do a show!!!

My fav song on the Nickelback CD is "Savin Me" followed by "Photograph."

On the Rob Thomas CC my fav is "This Is How A Heart Breaks" (ultimate song), "Ever The Same" and "When The Heartache Ends", and then "Streetcorner Symphony."

I ENJOYED my Rose today in the Newark Manufacturing plant, the meal was awesome, sweet potatoes, glazed carrots, stuffing and turkey, and more. Awesome to eat good food at work and enjoy The Rose!!! Perfect fit!!! :)

While I was writing copy and voice-tracking today, I listened to my Mannheim Steamroller CD. I had New England Clam Chowder and salad for lunch. Before lunch, I contemplated my naval for a few minutes. Then, the mail arrived. A few bills, an Ollie's flier, and an offer from the cable company. After lunch, I stopped by Home Depot to pick up a bucket and duct tape. Go duct tape!

???

Scoot, doesn't sound too fun I gather. I have to ask what was the duct tape and bucket for?
Did you enjoy your Christmas music? I did for about 1.5 hours today on The Rose. That Candyland things sounds fun, especially if it involves the wonderful peanut butter cups that Hershey makes. Man! They are so good!! Maybe I should try winning those tickets this weekend. The 3-D lights should be cool too!!!

Also I have to add two songs to the Rob Thomas CD that are awesome "Lonely No More" and "Now Comes The Night." That would sound awesome on The Rose!!!

How is the Home Depot this time of year, do people really buy all those gadgets for Christmas? ???

I wonder will The Rose does a ski trip? I love snowboarding/skiing and as a matter of fact I am getting ready to purchase my season tickets to Camelback Ski Resort in NEPA!!!
