Yeah, it's been part of their programming in recent years.
I'll have to tune in again to see if they've increased the amount of Soul/R&B and
New Wave tunes (other than The Gap Band, Yaz, etc.).

Yes they do play New Wave music like A Flock of Seagulls, Soft Cell, ABC, Pretenders, Animotion, Wang Chung (love that Dance Hall Days), Duran Duran (they get on alot, especially Rio), The Fixx (One Thing Leads To Another)Tears For Fears, Men Without Hats (Safety Dance), INXS, Fine Young Cannibals (Good Thing) amd more.
On the R&B side there is not as many but they do play The Whispers, Sheila E, George Benson, Kool& The Gang (Get Down On It, hot fricking song, love dancing to it) and more I just can't think of them all right now. Of course, the rock people are represented through Bon Jovi, Def Leppard (Armageddon It), Whitesnake, Queen, Hooters, and more.
So there are a combination of all things on the 80's Friday partt, kind of reminds me a little bit of my former hometown station Magic 93 (Wilkes-Barre/Scranton) but a much more extended and better version. Although, I did like Magic's too.Magic could program 80's music no doubt and 70's as well. Used to be nice in Dunmore listening to the 70's and 80's block. But I got the ultimate best with the Rose!!! I like them the best of anyone I have heard.
Happy listening, their first Friday of all 80's should be December 29, 2006. When they get done the holiday programming!!!!

Great job with the X-mas tunes, loved hering the Transiberien Orchestra "Wizards In Winter" during Micheal C's chow today, sounded like a rock station lol. Awesome!!!!! Keep up the great work MIcheal C.

Although, I am disappointed because I thought that I would have the "REAL" 101 The Rose back today in which case I was completely wrong and that is all I will say because I love The Rose!!! I have no other comment on what I (was) hearing today. I went back to WPLJ in NYC when I heard the XMAS brigade still going on!!! :'( :'(They did do an awesome job this year, I listened to them yesterday while opening the presents but I have one statement for my dear friends at The Rose, LETS GET BACK THE SOFT ROCK SOON, I AM MISSING YOU GUYS!!!

BY THE WAY, paradioguy, Michael C is awesome!!! I totally love listening to him everyday that I can and I have my friends Deiter, Denny, Alicia, and Jess also listening!!! He is always got integrity that is hard to find in radio.
Also, about Michael C, I hope he is feeling better!!! I heard he was sick the past few days, didn't have a voice (what an ailment for a radio jock)!!! That is a shame because he was real sick back in end of August/September!!!

Like you said, he has personality, hard to find on alot of these stations now a days when the big corporate a-holes dont want much personoality but to just sound like a cookie-cutter radio station. Keep up the good work Micheal C.

Michael C is a sweet guy (I know some guys don't like being called that cause it makes them sound weak, but I believe Michael is the type to take that kind of compliment) and a generous person. I don't know how many people who I have talked to that call him up or e-mail him that enjoy the reception that he gives them. Even if he can't play a song, he gives a resonable explanation and is truthful about it. Not the BS line you get from most jocks "Well, i'll see what I can do" and not do a thing. We are lucky as The Rose's listeners to have him everyday!!!
Second, he is not a yucker and certainly does try hard TO PLEASE PEOPLE!!!

I may be disappointed with the station right now with the XMAS music after XMAS, but I still and will always have my loyalty to The Rose and Michael C!!! If someone asked me today what is the best station to listen to it would be The Rose.

WHOOHOOO!!! WELCOME BACK 101 THE ROSE!!!! 8) I have been listening all day to the wonderful sounds of them once again!!! They sound better than ever. I am so happy right now to have my station back in its normal form once again!!! My friend Deiter who lives in Lititz called me at midnight and told me the wonderful news. I was not even going to try them back until the 1st of the year when I heard the all XMAS yesterday but he felt something good was going to happen last night and it did.
Once again the best station in Central PA/world is back!!!
Me and my friends are going to get together in Lititz after my shift at 11PM to have a few drinks on The Rose and listen to them all night!!! There is nothing like a great party on something so damn hot as The Rose!!! I probably will have a horrible hangover by tomorrow though! :-X

The answer is FOR REAL. Nope, never been pulling any legs here, that would be too much energy taking up that I could be using listening to the station!!! ;D Sorry dude, I love them and that is as real as it gets. I do as I say.

Well, when I lived out your way, I never got excited about The Rose. When we do go back and accidentally scan 101.3, I remember why. To each his/her own.
