drt, you should sometime when you get a chance take a trip up to one of the barrier island beaches of northern Pinellas County.

You should easily be able to get a good signal from 1060 WLNO. Also on 1030, listen for a religious station in the background of the Spanish station when you null out WHBO's splatter. Should be KCTA Corpus Christi, Tx.

Gar,

I started on the barrier islands on the coast last January; at Indian Shores I had some splatter from our local 1040, but as I head south (Treasure Island, Passe-a-Grille and the area of the USCG Blackthorne Memorial and Skyway Fishing Pier) I could in fact pick up the 1050 out of New Orleans mid day; not all the strong, but it was listenable.

Interesting enough, right now I'm at my secondary listening post in extreme eastern Hernando county (about 7 or 8 miles w.s.w. of Webster) and mid-day today (around 2:15pm est, I was receiving 1060, but it was the 1060 from Melbourne on the east coast of the state; it came it solid as I drove into Bushnell.

drt

That should have read: I received 1060 out of New Orleans (as opposed to my typo indicating 1050) on the south Pinellas Barrier islands. (Treasure Island to Passe-a-Grille).

1050 was splatter from the local 1040.
