1010 signal not North/South enough

Hi, maybe this is a crazy idea...but since 1010's signal is really good along Interstate 4...I've often wondered whether they should re-brand as "I-4 Radio" and have a heavy emphasis on traffic reports, along the entire stretch of road. Regular updates for Tampa-St.Pete, Lakeland, Metro Orlando, Daytona. Maybe the road is better now, than when I lived there nine years ago...but perhaps traffic is bad/heavy enough, to make it viable? Use a little music for the occasional filler...also frequent weather updates for the length of the highway... Crazy? Chance to make some money? To me, it would be a logical "use" of the station's coverage area.

Another "WTIR" Oh god no! Bad, boring format.. and it never made any money for Rama Communications..... Yeah, don't let them near it either.

I didn't mean to suggest it would be interesting, I was just wondering whether such an obvious use of 1010's signal would bring money. Obviously, ppl would tune in for a report and probably tune-out. Wouldn't see anyone listening to such a format for the entire length of the trip...

You can't get 1010 in metro Orlando anymore ever since 990 WDYZ went IBOC. All you get is allot of that hash sound 24/7.

Hi Frank...thanks for the update. Used to remember 1010 had a good signal all the way up to Orlando.

Hi Frank,

I remember seeing your name associated with WLVU-AM-FM years ago, and thanks for the update on 1010 in Orlando. I thought IBOC was pretty much dead in its tracks due to the interference problems, but apparently I was mistaken. How far does 1010 now reach towards Orlando. e.g., when do you lose the 1010 signal?
