102.1 KQIS (Lafayette) is now...

102.1 KQIS

Just a minute ago, KQIS shifted away from AC to 60s-90s Classic Hits as "102.1 KQIS, Acadiana's Favorite Music." The last song played as an AC was Bryan Adams "Heaven" (coming out of the John Tesh program) and the first song under the new format was the Foundations' "Build Me Up Buttercup."

I think its more of a tweak or new positioning than a full blown switch. I have heard a few recent tracks like James Blunt's Beautiful.

They are countering SNAP 87.7 Classic Hits which evolved out of the muck and will soon be on 103.7 as well.....Signals will be markedly improved ...... when the FCC trudge is finished.....

sounded the same as before?...or sounded the same as 88.7 ?

I would call KQIS gold-based ac rather than classic hits. KOGM 107.1 also shifted from AC to classic hits and plays harder music than KQIS. For instance KOGM plays ZZ Top and AC/DC.
