Listening to different stations around the country and I happened to tune in your KISS FM. How are they doing ratings-wise? Do a lot listen? Dave And Jimmy is from Columbus, OH where I'm from. Does Albany like em?
 
102.3 rumors are flying they're going to flip after January 1

One of their deejays (don't ask who) has been seen at ABC/Pamal very recently

JAMZ, Magic and The Edge may be going on the block - more rumors that ABC/Pamal wants to unload them (short on cash, y'know!)

One of those Bob or Jack formats is supposedly being considered. But if CC puts the stations on the block, as another poster indicates elsewhere on this board, why would they bother?

Speculation at ABC has KISS fine-tuning the "urban" cuts to address JAMZ playlist weaknesses (there are several hits they are not allowed too play) and shadow Ryan Seacrest's playlist in other dayparts, mixing in whatever songs are locally strong.

The ABC camp has the right idea, but again, if you are selling, why tinker?
 
You want to move DJ Thomas to FLY to do Mid Days, Terry to afternoons and Marissa to overnights?? Have you lost your mind?
 
True statement..But Terry's not pm drive material and with Marissa being the MD I couldn't see her vt'ing over nights (Fly's not live in that time slot anymore)
 
I really enjoy Dave and Jimmy. Too bad they are syndicated because I think they are one of the best things on the air in the morning. I used to think Free Beer and Hot Wings was an insult but after listening for a while I really enjoy that show too. Dave and Jimmy is like hanging out in the dorm with your friends in college and FBHW is like poker night with the boys.

There isn't much to offer on the air in the morning here in Albany. Wolf's ship has sailed, the Fly morning show is too serious but bless them for trying so hard. Big Ray sounds like he has marbles in his mouth. John and Jamie on 98.3 are simply pleasant and fun to listen to.

Steve and Jackie are also fun to listen to. I think the show is pretty funny.

Anything else good in the AM other than Morning Edition?

If I may.. All great points. I agree with all except for Fly. I'm not sure what you mean by too serious. Please elaborate. But, you are 100% right..Good post!
