102.5 has van stolen from studio parking lot

Why would anybody waste there time listening to 102.5 grown black folk radio(hate talk)
Once again a topic that I like to discuss has been awakened. Isnt it odd, that we cant have a station that would even mention anything at all like Grown Black folk radio does?
We cant say that we are pissed about anything, because Al Sharpton will come out from behind his mike and make a fuss. Its all ok, to spew hate and race and disreguard, but not anyone else....

First of all, its not "grown black folk radio." Its called 102.5 Grown Folks Radio. They have a one talk show with Al Sharpton which is syndicated from 10a-3p. They also play R&B jams throughout the day and on weekends have live broadcast from various nightclubs. Have you seen how fast they're rising in the ratings? Someone is listening!

and we have drug addict Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity and other bigoted "hate radio" filling the airwaves in this market...don't see you complaining about them lilburncommunityradio. I can stomach Sharpton much more than the constant ignorance from pill popper Rush any old day...but this has nothing to do with the topic does it?

and please tell me what the format of the station has to do with an auto theft? let me check my E911 logs for the same date and I guarantee you that wasn't the only company/commercial vehicle stolen on that date. I am sure the vehicle will be pretty easy to recover...

I complain about WGST all the time. Rush is considered the king in many realms, only because of his timing of entry into talk radio, and his program did far better than any of the earlier talkers, Larry King, and some of the others. I only added futher comment about 102.5 because once again " Sharpton is the priest of hating white people, and trying his best to continue race wars in this country". I will not defend Rush for anything wrong he has ever done. Sharpton is a JOKE. His whole message is full of hate for White Americans.
Does he ever talk about anything other than INJUSTICE to the black race? NO... That's his whole message, There are plenty of other important subjects to talk about other than this.
Rush is no where even in my list of TOP 5 Talk show hosts. He was entertaining at one time, because he brought out some of the bits he used to do when he was a jock. I do not care for ANYONE, black or white that wants to stir futher issue's that will cause this nation to stay in constant upheaval with one another. If those who follow so closely the teachings of Al Sharpton and examine his deeds they would see he is just a Race Pimp..

It dosen't matter about the station format. To have a station van stolen before the weekend is a promotion manager's headache and nightmare rolled into one!

If the van was loaded for an appearance or remote, that means that several someones had to scramble to get materials together to cover it.

My old van used to hold the Remote Booth (a $6,000 investment), a couple of Martis, two sound systems, a DC to AC converter, and be one of only two vehicles the station had.

Even if the station went down to the car lot and wrote a check on the spot so they would have a van for the weekend (seen this done when RKO owned the old WAXY-FM in Ft. Lauderdale), they still need to logo it and make sure they can cover the weekend's events.

If the van was wrapped and they want to wrap the new one, that takes time and $$$$$ (or some serious trade).

Did any of their events take a hit because of the stolen van???

What would Bob Neil do?

Oh yeah....

"Grown Folks 102.5...your #1 stolen at work station...."

102.5's stolen van found

The sky blue 2003 Ford cargo van with Steve Harvey's mug on it was found by cops. Some thieves had swiped the van and used it to transport stolen air conditioning units. But those units happened to have GPS tracking devices in them. Atlanta cops tracked them down and arrested the two perpetrators, according to promotions director at 102.5 Corey Punzi. Punzi is now going to the impound lot to get the van.

Just for kicks, find out what station the radio was on. It could be the new #1 station for perpetrators at work. ;D

He's catering to his audience much like that of any talk host.

Don't you have some Regional Mexican or Reggaeton station to be complaining about?

not really, very common practice now to put GPS tracking devices on heavy equipment such as air conditioners, generators, etc. Think of it as "lo jack" for your high dollar stuff...

Well, that gives new meaning to having a "cool" ride..... ;D

Nope, Im all done with those ! ;D Besides, why complain hispanic radio in Atlanta has only just begun.

Why we listen to Mr. Sharpton

We listen because he is not afraid to speak on what is right.
It don't matter what color a person might be wrong is wrong in any color. That is one of the things that is wrong with the people today.
They want solutions but don't want to comfort the problems. And I think that he talks more about black people because that is something that he knows about, being a black man in america.I believe that a lot of white people don't want to hear what he has to say because they knows nothing about being at the bottom of the tolling pole. If you are always at the top you will never understand what (support) is needed at the bottom.

Thats a statement that could open doors of great discussion, but I dont think that we need to let this convo begin... Because in Al's world if you said good morning to anyone, it might mean that we need to demonstrate, and cause a ruckus over something simple.. If he speaks on whats always right... Im really confused.... Really Really Confused.

Sharpton, just like Boortz, speaks on what he thinks will arouse his audience... which is after all his job and Boortz' job. The difference in what they have to say and how they say it is purely the difference in the intended audiences. Both are quite good at it.
