They kinda sound like they're trying to take the station in a slightly different direction to make themselves "stand out" from the rest of the playing field (more throwbacks added to the playlist along with the regular rotation of top-40 songs to differentiate themselves from 104.5 and holding steady with the rhythmic lean to stay in direct competition with 107.9 and 103.9). I also noticed they are in the process of shifting their name/branding to "Hot 102-5" from the current "Hot 102". Not sure why they are wanting to do this, but it interests me...I kinda want to know the reason. Thirdly, they have added more local on-air talent and have added a late-night mix show on Friday and Saturday nights and a syndicated "slow jamz" nightly on weeknights. I find them more listenable with the changes. I hope their ratings reflect the changes in a good way as well.
