102.5 The Bone

I wish they would stop all the stunts. Billy Madison abuses "Nard" and Spice abuses "Nervous Jared" The format change hasn't been as good as I thought it would be. Cowhead's show is decent. I like the fact he bashes Hulk Hogan. Bubba had to create "Ludlow" for rating and nobody really cares about Drew Garabo, Nick and Artie

The station with "dick rains" for traffic.

And what's with the traffic chick sexualizing all the traffic reports. I noticed this a while back.

Which one is that???

as irony would have it, this station seems to be actually loosing it's edge since the format adjustment. Bubba is like a squirrel on speed, constantly trying to legitimize himself after loosing stations in his 'network', loosing the channel 10 affiliation, getting divorced, loosing his BFF, etc. While BTLS is actually a pretty bright guy, for every 3 steps he takes forward, he easily slides back 9 because of something he's done to himself. The clock is ticking.

It's jock radio.

Correction, it's dropout jock radio. Cowhead is the only good show on there anymore... and Cow & Galvin are pulling the entire weight on their own. I'm sure Spanish and that dumb chick are really nice people, but I could care less about them or their lives.

The rest of the station is sad. Surprisingly, it's actually gotten worse since they were playing the same 5 songs over and over. It got bumped off my presets for NPR (blech). They should just run Cowhead reruns when he's not live. I do love Bubba, because his show is a part my childhood (explains a lot I know), but it's just not like it was in the Power Pig or 98 Rock days anymore. I actually feel sorry for Bubba, and I wish him well. I hope he saved his money.

The rest of the station is typical Cox fair. The people who run Cox at a corporate level are either dumb, or are trying to make us dumb. In any event, the content on Cox stations is geared for the same retarded people that they constantly mock. It's stations like this that make me glad that terrestrial radio in its death throes. Some day I'll show ya how it's done. :)

I'm sorry. I can't help it. Son, it's "losing", not "loosing". Get your Good Enough Degree, ok?

Loosing is a word, so even if someone is running spell check, it isn't going to show up. If there's one pet peeve I have, it's hot shots on message boards trying to cut down someone's opinion just because they bumped an extra key on a keyboard. It's the year 2012, we're busy people, man. We're trying to convey ideas, not perfect spelling. Jesus. I'm surprised the guy defending Bubba is telling other people to get a college degree lulz

Is there anything on the face of the earth that offers less value for the cost that a BA?

It is being reported that an investigator mis-spelled "suffocation" and as a result did not pick up on a search on her computer that might have led to a conviction of Casey Anthony.

So, you go on making excuses for not concentrating on "basics" as useless as spelling.

People judge you by the words you use and how you dress. It says a lot about how you feel about yourself, first and foremost.

C'mon man, this isn't a murder investigation. This is broadcasting. Half the copy I've ever gotten from advertisers or sales people looks like a 6 year old wrote it. I got my college degree, but when I'm posting on a message board I'm not trying to keep it to the MLA format. Just sayin'...

Luckily those sales people aren't air personalities.

It may not be a "murder investigation", but it is called taking pride in yourself and in details. I'm sure you do that when you are getting ready for a date, don't you?

Wait, you think an education is required to get behind a mic? Have you ever listened to Bubba The Love Sponge?

...and I generally use proper spelling and grammar when I post here. My point is that a lot of us post here while we're at work, we're not exactly going over each post with a fine tooth comb.

I never said an education was required - just a vocabulary.

We can all relate in that way. And sometimes an iPhoneiPad is no help, either.

My point is that with all of the devices we have to help us, we are not paying as much attention to detail and it will show when you least want it.

Take the "5-Hour" energy drink with "50cent" commercial. The spot starts out with him speaking in a normal voice, which he describes as sounding "like some dorky sounding dude". He then takes a drink and is talking in his "normal" voice. He sounds more as though he is lazy speaking and thinks that's cool! Is this really someone you would like your son to emulate? I think not!

Jeff in Sa-ra-so-ta!

This is probably going to get bumped for being off topic, but I saw a interview with 50 Cent once where he staunchly proclaimed that he doesn't drink alcohol or smoke marijuana. This from the rapper who says, "I'm high all the time" and, "I'm gettin' krunk in da club". It seems like everyone is fake and posturing... hmm maybe this does relate to our local air talent...

Anyway, this may be a first but I agree with you. Technology has definitely killed any creativity left in broadcasting. Most of the guys working in radio right now would be totally lost if you took away their Adobe Audition and their 360 Shortcut, and gave them a couple tape decks and an analog board... oh well...

There were a lot of air talent that were nothing in person as they sounded on the radio or acted. A person we have been mentioned here is a prime example. It probably wouldn't surprise me to find out 50cent was one of them. I was referring to the message in the spot.
A lot of time you can tell because a person has to be a good employee, first and foremost. A personality who is not a good employee, first, will not last.

ahh, for the good old days when you would see a new song carted up and not be able to audition it before you heard it...and changing the version without knowing the new version had a shorter intro time.

Or, my favorite was a Technics turntable that reverted back to 33 1/3 when you stopped it...maybe. :)
