102.7 WLYK "The Lake" All Christmas

When there's two in a market, that simply means one should focus on the classics while the other maintains a more modern sound.

A third station should perhaps be a variety of both new and classic Christmas music!

Most often when a market has more than two all Christmas stations in the same market, it simply means someone is changing format.

It will sure be interesting to see how things unfold Dec. 26 right across North America!

From my home, both WTOJ & 'The Lake' get the squeeze from adjacent channels.

Ottawa's 'Majic 100' has done the Christmas 'flip' (seems to get earlier each year...), although Ogdensburg NY's WPAC 98.7 clearly plays much more of the 'classic' Christmas tunes. Except for the annoying jingles, PAC gets my two Christmas thumbs up...or should that be my two front teeth? ;D

In the Albany market, there are now 3 all Xmas stations. 98.3 / 105.7 / 590 AM. The two FM's were the first... and the speculation is that it'll be 105.7 (WBZZ) whose format will change from AC to ??? when the Xmas mix is history. :-\
