Early this morning (Sat, Aug 28 around 12:30-1am), WKIX-FM 102.9 is off-air and, in its place I'm hearing Spanish-language programming, staticky, but consistently. At the top of the hour, they identified as WCNC Elizabeth City/WZBO Edenton, East Carolina Radio Group's Spanish simulcast of AM 1240 (WCNC) and AM 1260 (WZBO), though I can't figure out why they're on 102.9 FM. The two stations are too close to Norfolk's WOWI for a translator on that channel and, as far as I'm aware, WELS-FM in Kinston is still gospel.
