102.9 KBLX

I guess nobody has mention about their music yet, but I notice within the last few months they adjusted their music playlist. I notice they are playing lots more 90's to current stuff instead of 70's and 80's solid gold stuff. Also, I notice they started playing crossover artist such as Phil Collins, Selena, Michael Bluble, George Michael, Jason Mraz, Amy Whinehouse, Spandau Ballet, etc.

Has their music adjustments affected their recent ratings?

You mean KBLX is Smooth AC like KTWV 94.7 FM. That stuff has been done at KTWV and the ratings are good in LA. We will have to wait for results over here.

Maybe KBLX is finally responding to the fact that KISQ has dominated them in the ratings for quite awhile now with exactly that kind of play list - Culture Club, even George Michael (Wham).

The company that owns KBLX (Inner City Broadcasting) has been troubled financially for quite awhile now, and has recently petitioned for protection under Chapter 11 bankruptcy.

Regardless, KBLX has always modified its sound from time to time to suit changing listening trends, even when they continued to use the "quiet storm" slogan.

KISQ is a semi KKHR-Fm and KMEL mix from the 1980's

Neitherless both sound good. KBLX stream on Tune Inn isn't all that great but I like KISQ 80's at 8. Something we dont have on the air here in Los Angeles
