102.9 (NOW??)

They have started playing more of their older 90's music again , and I even heard "Like A Prayer" by Madonna earlier today..Seems like they can't make up their mind lol.

some of the older music is on Ryan Seacrest's show. I know like a prayer was played during his show and the songs are picked by his listeners.

If they're into hiring similar programming to 'protect' current programming, then they should steal the 'New School' away from The Fan for KEGL, to protect Russ Martin.

It is dumb. Come on! Think about it. By playing the exact same music, what are you doing? You are atracting Kiss listeners to also listen to now. With 2 choices, they will listen to Kiss less. Playing the exact same music as your sister station isn't flanking; it's dumb programming.

I'm not involved in radio, except only as a listener.

I think the new format stinks to high heaven, plus, I cannot stand their mid-day jock, Christopher. His British accent makes me want to puke.

Sorry, just one man's opinion.

The exact same music? Really?

Every time I've tuned in "102.9 Now", it seems like I'm hearing pretty much a standard Hot AC playlist -- the only real difference being that they've cranked their rotations up to the frequencies more typical for a CHR station.

Yeah, there is overlap between 102.9 Now and Kiss-FM, but that's because there's a fair amount of overlap between the Hot AC and CHR charts. But there's also a lot of stuff on Kiss that 102.9 isn't touching.

I really don't care for the "New Now", I'd prefer they go back to the old "New Mix". You've already got KISS and 93.3 playing "Hot Pop" or whatever you want to call "teen music" nowadays.

The Mix brand had more appeal to the station playlist. 80's, 90's and 2000's. The Now brand makes its seems like its all current based. Plus the Mix logo looked better. Clear Channel went that route to throw off CBS since they use the Now brand for some of their CHR's.
