102.9 the Buzz

Question, have been in the nashville area for 5 days, the whole time my friend and i have been listening to the buzz. It sounds pretty good. But we were wondering what type of station was this before, because the staion keeps advertising "bare with us, we're making it up as we go along." Thanks

102.9 the Buzz has been rock since April 1999, but they were mainly New Rock/Alternative Music until about a year ago when they became an Active Rock format to include their slogan "Everything that Rocks". They were country prior to April 1999 and became the Buzz the day after WKDF dropped their Rock format to become Country.
